Details

Depart early morning from Islamabad and head toward Naran via the scenic route. Enjoy short breaks at Kaghan, Kiwai Waterfall, and Lulusar Lake. Depending on the time, stay overnight in Batakundi or Jalkhad, near Babusar Top, to ease the long drive next day.

Drive up to Babusar Top (13,700 ft) and capture the mesmerizing views. Continue descending towards Chilas, then follow the Karakoram Highway to Gilgit, passing through the Indus River gorge. Reach Gilgit by evening. Overnight stay in Gilgit.

Depart for Hunza after breakfast. On the way, stop at the iconic Rakaposhi View Point in Nagar Valley, with unmatched views of the 7,788m snow-capped Rakaposhi peak. Reach Karimabad, the heart of Hunza, and explore Baltit Fort, Altit Fort, and the local culture. Overnight in Karimabad.

Visit the stunning Attabad Lake, formed by a landslide in 2010. Enjoy boating, jet skiing, or just relax by the turquoise water. Then head toward Passu Village to view the majestic Passu Cones (Cathedral Peaks) and Passu Glacier. Evening free. Overnight stay in Passu or nearby.

Take an early drive to Sost, the last town before the Chinese border. Explore the small Sost Bazaar for shopping and tea. Continue to Khunjerab Pass, the world’s highest paved border crossing at 15,397 ft! Enjoy panoramic views, and don’t forget your jackets. Return to Passu/Gulmit by evening.

Start your return journey via the same majestic Karakoram Highway. Depending on road and weather conditions, you can stay overnight in Chilas or return all the way to Naran (via Babusar Top) if possible. Rest and reflect on your journey.

Complete the final leg of your journey by returning to Islamabad. Short stops at River Kunhar, Lulusar Lake, and Naran Bazaar if open. End of tour with unforgettable memories of northern Pakistan.
